Lovely graphics, nostalgic characters, and runs smoothly too.

This game is definitely great IN THE BEGINNING. However, when you reach a point where your medals (a.k.a. your equipment) are too weak, youll run into frustrations. Your medals are entirely based on CHANCE and LUCK, since stronger medals are only available through a draw. Raising levels does absolutely nothing for your strength and defense. The IAP in this game is insanely expensive and deceptive, and not enough jewels are given in the game for free. These "deals" as they are referred to in the game basically scam players to spend idiotic amounts of money on medals that become outdated so quickly EVERY week. Did I mention there are hackers in this game that mess up the ranking rewards system now, and the game STILL CRASHES? Square Enix hasnt done anything about these issues. If you decide to spend money on this game, know exactly what youre getting. You have to draw medals at least 10 times to get the guaranteed, super rare premium medal for certain deals. Thats over $100. If you want to increase the power of the medal, you need 7 more of that medal to have a chance at a randomly generated attack bonus percentage. If that percentage is on the low end, you need more of that medal to try to roll for a better number. Think about how much money that is; its way more than $100, and the draws are not even slightly set to favor the player like in other games. I have yet to even get ONE premium medal and I have been playing this game since it came out. The company has absolutely no regard for their players and paying customers. Support is absolutely terrible if you ever have to contact them; they are unresponsive and incompetent. They purposely write in such a vague, copy and paste manner that makes customers distrustful and frustrated and angry. The in-game notices are ALWAYS ridden with erroneous or poorly written information that causes confusion. They need to get someone who can write in plain English! If you want a game to play super casually and dont care about making progress AT ALL, this is alright... but if you are looking for something more complex and fulfilling you will definitely not find it here. I played this game a lot in the beginning but it just seems to be getting worse in the way its being handled, so I am playing less. Do yourself a favor and skip this game. Its too much of an investment in time and money, and the worse thing is how unresponsive the developer is. Dont believe me? Check out their Twitter at @kh_ux_na and see how they respond to players. They dont!
SE did make a fine game to get medals based on Final Fantasy and Disney but to get the best it can be costly. 14700 jewels is $100 and some of the jewels are only worth their price when the 3000 offer comes. I would suggest that SE rethink their pricing, like keeping the 3000 jewels for $15 or reduce the cost for packs, otherwise they will lose costumers.
I want to start off this review by explaining how much fun I continue to have with this game (and I would rate this game 3.5 stars instead of just 3). Aside from its repetitiveness in the early to mid quests, the game really draws you in easily with the whole way the medals system and key blade upgrades. Its not too difficult or tiresome to play when you first start, and when you continue on to play you feel like its worth it. As I have gotten to higher levels, upgrading my avatar boards as well as my medals and key blades, I found myself becoming more eager to have better medals and better upgrades on my key blade. This is where the red flag started raising itself to me, this game lets you venture far enough to get very reeled into the game, only to have you at a standstill on whether or not you should start using money on it. I so far have spent 30 dollars and that is the max I will pay because I feel like that is how much this game is worth (free to play apps are never really free with in app purchases, so I like to see it as you pay as much as you think the game is worth). Another question that started to pop up is if the game was even worth playing anymore, this was because I noticed such a big gap in how long it takes you to get in game items VS spending money to get these in game items. The whole $15 a week thing for the events and specials is such a blow off, if you do indeed want to keep up with the most newest medals, deals, and be able to upgrade a lot more, youd have to pay $15 a week, which to me, sounds like bs. I feel as though Im getting ripped off at that point, especially if they have some events that are unlocked on weekends anyway. Maybe if they lowered the price or had the events unlocked longer, it would be worth it. Adding to that as well, some events and specials are unable to be done even if you unlock them, this is due to not having powerful enough medals or key blades, which isnt technically fair at all for the player who just spent $15 to unlock them, even with buying new 5 or 6 star medals with the jewels you get (3000 jewels). I really like this game, I just wish it wasnt such a cash grab. I mean yeah I know companies need a way to make a good profit, but seeing how much time and effort I put in this game, it doesnt seem like that helps with getting me the same in game items I could get with just buying jewels right away.
Its a perfect game and is updated frequently but the price of jewels is pretty high I think everyone agrees and I think people would be more inclined to actually purchase jewels if they were a better value
This is one of my fav kh games! But what happen now? I updated the game but i must redownload it again?! And when i re-download it. Its so so slow to download :( its been 2 days now the dowload says "Downloading(1/8)... 44.5%" wow. My wifi is fine and everything. But guess its my phone cause its ios7.etc. not sure whats the prob the game or te phone i have.
Honestly this game just rides on the Kingdom Hearts hype. I tried to like it because I enjoyed the main series so much but the game play is severely lacking. Feels like a fan made flash version of KH.
I love this game especially after mission 300 and you dont need to pay to play, you get 150 jewels each quest and a daily login bonus of jewels, quests where we can get jewels, and a lot more ways. Im currently level 204 in the party Anime4Ever and I am Luciel.
This game needs Mickey and Brooms, and daily jewel quests. I spent over $1500 and I dont have a guilted premium medal yet, and their refusal to release Mickey and Brooms (something jp got 2 months in), is going to kill this game for anyone but tremendous cashers.
Ok, Im one of the biggest KH fans on the planet. Ive played every game and loved them all. When this came out, I was thinking "Cool! New Kingdom Hearts stuff. Lets see how it is." Bad. Thats how it is. The gameplay is simplistic at best, and the customization which is their major gimmick is way too pricey, especially since the stuff you buy is primarily aesthetic. All in all, not worth the storage space on your device.
Since updating to iOS 10, my app crashes occasionally, negatively affecting my progress and player experience. In addition, for the past month and a half, there have been hackers and cheaters permeating the leaderboards. Neither of these issues have been fixed despite the game and app itself getting content updates weekly. Any attempts to contact Square Enix via their official support processes or their social media (Twitter, Facebook) has ranged from complete silence to vague, robotic non-answers. Lastly, it has been 6 months since the release of this app in North America, and we are still missing key elements that were long since available to Japanese players by their 6-month mark. Free-to-play and even occasional spenders will find themselves hitting content walls because of how much the NA version is geared towards individuals who spend thousands of dollars on the game monthly. All these issues severely gut what couldve been a very fun game. Instead, its simply frustrating on every level.
Even more fun if you get people you know to play so you can be part of the same guild. Interactions between people outside your guild is nonexistent but is good since I protects its younger player base.
JP knows how to treat their "customers", the global team doesnt. They are not getting 5 stars from me if they dont do things right.
I love Square Enix, their games are great, especially Kingdom Hearts. I have played every game in the franchise and it is to this day my favorite game. Kingdom Hearts Unchained Chi (KHUx) has many flaws though. KHUx is a very P2W game. Even to get though the story quests is difficult. I am currently level 275 and have good enough gear and i have spent about 40 dollars or so, hardly anything. And, the Japan version has so much better stuff than us, like the mickey and brooms which allows you to guilt (put 7 of the same medal into one to make it stronger) a medal without having to get 6 extra copies of a medal. The only encouragement i have to play this game anymore is being in being in the best party in Anguis(Slytherin)and getting jewels to pull more.
This is one of my favorite apps to play and I cant wait to play the new multiplayer coming out in February!
The game is awesome and worth downloading its be better if you could trade medals with the people in your parties and maybe have a store where you can get oriachulum but other than that its worth downloading for sure
Also an offline function wouldnt hurt.
Bring it BACK please Its an amazing game
Never fails.. Just when I get to almost the end of a quest Im in the game shuts down and I lose everything. Lost lots of coins and other things because of this.
Greatest game ever
